Conical Strainer
Commissioning filter or permanent protection?
Hat strainer are conical or cone shaped strainer used in industry for filtration in pipelines. They serve as dirt traps to remove contaminants that are transported through the pipe or line system. Especially during the commissioning of a system, the basket strainer acts as a start-up protection or temporary strainer to catch coarse particles that may occur during initial operation and thus prevent damage to downstream components. But the conical sieve is also a cost-effective solution as a permanent pipeline screen.
Hat screens are used in various media, such as water, drinking water, oil, gas, chemicals or even food products. They are indispensable in the chemical industry, oil and gas industry, water treatment and many other areas in which clean pipelines are crucial and important fittings and systems need to be protected.
For easy assembly between flange connections according to DIN EN 1092-1 and DIN 2632 (sealing surfaces B1, tongue and groove, projection and recess), DIN 11851 or ASME B 16.5. RF and RTJ.
We manufacture from stainless steel and offer a wide selection of mesh sizes and perforated sheets for your application.
From the inside out or vice versa?
Our conical strainers are available as:
- Basket strainer for flow from the inside
- Hat strainers for flow to the tip
A cone is much more susceptible to external pressure than to internal pressure, as external pressure forces quickly lead to dents and instability. With internal pressure, tensile forces act, which only become critical when the material strength is exceeded. For this reason, the design as a basket strainer is preferable.
Custom-made?
Ask about individual custom-made products:
- use in high temperature ranges
- aggressive media such as acids, salt water or demineralized water
- double cone sieves for a large filter surface
- special flanges
Technical questions?
We can provide you with answers to your questions about conical strainer:
- Which mesh size and which material is the right one?
- Which position and installation location should be chosen?
- How is the flow behavior influenced and what pressure loss can occur?
- How resilient is the conical strainer under the operating conditions?
